GERMAN REPRESENTATION OF BRITISH
INSURANCE COMPANIES.
In accordance with the request made by the Secretary of the Board of Trade at our last interview, we have pleasure in submitting the views of the offices there represented as to the suggested substitution by British Insurance Companies of British for German representative in Japan and Korea.
We fully appreciate, and to the utmost of our ability would wish to support, the policy of H. M. Government in striving to bring economic pressure to bear on the subjects of Knewy States. We realise that every effectual measura to this and makes the successful conclusion of the present War more speedy and more sure. We also understand and tạ a great extent sympathise with what might be the popular view on the question of German representation of British Companies. It is, therefore, necessary to explain why British Companies have been and continue at this juncture to be represented in Japan and Korea by German firms.
